Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept my dental insurance — and how do I use it?
Yes, we accept most UK dental insurance providers, including Bupa, Simplyhealth, WPA, AXA Health, Unum, and Cigna, among others. If you receive dental cover through your employer, we’re very likely able to support it.
You’ll pay us directly for your treatment at the end of each visit, and we’ll provide a detailed statement for you to submit to your insurer. We’re happy to assist with any paperwork or admin involved.
Reimbursement is made directly to you by your insurer, according to your policy’s terms.
How do I schedule an appointment — and what does it cost?
You can book online in just a few clicks — no forms, no waiting. If you prefer, you’re also welcome to get in touch by email at info@stanhopeplace.com or call us on 020 7724 7440 (please note, this line may go to voicemail during busy times).
Our initial consultation is £95, with any necessary x-rays charged separately at £14 per film. A 45-minute hygiene session is £100.50. If you’d like to combine both on the same day, the total is typically around £220.
Our online booking system will require payment of a deposit to confirm your appointment.

Will I see Dr Pourkavoos and the hygienist at the same time?
You’re welcome to book visits with Dr Pourkavoos and the hygienist either separately or on the same day — it’s entirely up to you. Some patients prefer to combine them for convenience, while others like to space them out.

How long does a typical visit take?
An initial consultation with Dr Pourkavoos is scheduled for 60 minutes, giving plenty of time for a detailed examination and discussion. A standard dental hygiene care visit is 45 minutes.
If you’re combining both on the same day, we recommend allowing around 1 hour and 45 minutes in total.
